John Harrison, Chairman, Severn Estuary PartnershipJohn Harrison, Chairman of the Severn Estuary Partnership spoke at the Forum on how they are working in partnership for the future of the Severn. Estuary. He gave a brief history and core roles of the Partnership which is an independent partnership of public, private and voluntary sector organisations and in operation since 1995.

The Partnership is hosted by School of Earth and Ocean Science, Cardiff University and promotes efficient interface between organisations, the public and promotes stakeholder involvement.  It has an integrated view of issues, policies and proposals for action using robust evidence base and supports a wide range of estuary-wide groups. They communicate with newsletters, forums & social media to promote networking and sharing best practice and are involved in a range of projects including the Wales Coastal Directory.

He shared the overview of 10 draft principles to promote the Partnerships vision and aims from their Summer 2015 Workshop ‘The Severn Estuary Strategy champions an integrated approach to the sustainable use and enjoyment of the Severn Estuary’.
